| Workshop Instructor
I have taught many traditional techniques such as weaving, dyeing, batik, painting on silk, discharge, shibori, silkscreen, block printing, applique, fusing techniques, felt making, 3-dimensional construction, photographic transfer methods, collage/mixed media processes, traditional textile print design for industry, computer print design, 2-dimensional design, 3-dimensional design, and color theory.
With over 15 years of teaching experience I have become very proficient at designing assignments and workshops that accomplish important factors: teaching textile techniques, teaching students how to create good repeat pattern designs that have excellent color schemes and depth, historical referencing, exposure to contemporary artists and fashion trends and the encouragement of creative experimentation.
